Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. She has released more than 20 albums. Her songs are classified by the label as folk or alternative rock. But, they are influenced by hip-hop music, jazz and punk. Ani DiFranco is widely recognized as an icon of women's rights and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be the founder of DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to start their own labels in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had made acquaintance while studying at in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal and her father is of Italian origins. The song by Ani, 32 Flavors was composed by her, and performed by Ani. The song was featured on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in the year 1995. A variation of the song appears on the movie soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apology was made in the year 2013 when it was discovered that she had planned to host the three-day event on the site of a Louisiana former slave plantation. It was cancelled but many (including this paper) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days later. While she has been known for her role as the Little Folksinger, her music has embraced many styles and collaborations that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She is a resident of New Orleans. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. She was 14 when she began to compose her own music. Her teens were spent performing them in bars and coffee shops. DiFranco started taking courses in Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
