
Bellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February 1970, ([1]) was an American actor, director, and performer best well-known for her character Melody "Mellie", Grant on ABC's drama show Scandal (2012)-2018. The actress was awarded her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television award as the top supporting actress on dramas. She was also part of the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young began her career as an actress in the theatre. In 1997, Young made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the initial cast of The Life. [8][9] Her Off-Broadway appearances include Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) as well as in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] She first appeared on television in the year 1995 as the character Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest on the NBC soap series Another World. The year 1997 was the same and in 1998, she played two guest roles in the show Law & Order. The film's debut came in 1999 when she played a part in"Black and White," a crime drama. Later, she appeared in other independent films. The actress began guest-starring in a range of dramas on TV and comedies in the 2000s. This comprised The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young appeared on more than thirty television shows between 2000 and 2011.
